Since the end of 2018, the Fnac Darty Group has been integrating immersive training for its salespeople using virtual reality. With the Uptale solution, Fnac Darty innovates and improves performance while reducing costs in its training methods.
Virtual Reality: An Innovative Experience That Allows Teleportation
When Romain Audic, head of the digital training division at Fnac Darty, discovered virtual reality, he quickly realized its enormous potential for his activities: “The initial goal was to visit sites that were extremely remote. To do this within a single day of training, we found that virtual reality was an interesting and innovative solution.“.
Romain Audic then decided to partner with Uptale, which he considers an essential player in the field. “Fnac Darty’s approach is to support start-ups with innovative solutions. Uptale was very proactive, and we appreciated the autonomy their solution offered us.“.
Limited costs, reduced training time, optimized information retention: the magic trio of the Uptale solution
Thanks to Virtual Reality, Fnac Darty integrates immersive training for its salespeople autonomously in stores with an unlimited training system. According to Romain Audic, it’s a great success: “We have hundreds of locations across France, so we can’t visit every store with our training team. Today, instead of sending a trainer out, stores only need a pair of VR glasses. They are now more autonomous and better equipped to advance their salespeople’s skills.”
Another advantage for Fnac Darty is the engaging aspect of Immersive Learning: “It’s highly immersive, and our employees can truly experience sales scenarios as if they were real. They can practice, train, and improve without limits, all while having fun.“
In addition to these benefits, Uptale also increases learner engagement by a factor of 5 compared to traditional case studies. The solution enhances information retention, with learners retaining 75 to 90% of the information long-term versus just 10 to 20% with traditional methods.
A (Nearly) Limitless Solution
Thanks to the ease of use of the Uptale platform, Fnac Darty aims to expand its offerings in the near future. “Currently, we only have a few training modules dedicated exclusively to sales teams. The goal is to create content and expand our offerings to include management and customer relations. We haven’t yet explored all the solutions Uptale has to offer, so there’s a lot to develop moving forward!” concludes Romain Audic.
