Firefox reality, the special VR browser

A little over a month ago, Mozilla launched a brand new web browser called Firefox Reality It is intended for autonomous virtual reality and augmented reality (or mixed reality) headsets. The first version of this browser is available in the Viveport, Oculus, and Daydream application stores.

Firefox Reality offers users the ability to access immersive content in the Web while retaining their freedom of choice, privacy control and a high level of protection. Designing a browser adapted to virtual reality required a lot of time, energy and research from the Firefox VR team.
“We had to rethink everything from navigation to text entry, environments, Internet search and so much more. Years of research were needed, as well as many conversations with users, content creators and our technology partners. This allowed us to develop a unique browser designed for the user. We think you’ll enjoy all the features and features that are specifically built into this mixed-reality browser,” said André Vrignaud, Head of Strategy for the Mozilla Mixed Reality Platform.

To start offering an alternative to text input, very complex for virtual reality, this new browser gives Internet users the choice to search using their headphone microphone, while ensuring fluidity and speed, as many essential elements to navigation in virtual reality. Because the Mozilla team is very attentive to its users, several features should be released soon, such as bookmarks, 360 videos, accounts, and more.

Uptale experiences are compatible with this new browser, and in particular allow you to open your experiences with the autonomous HTC helmets: the VIVE FOCUS!
