Enhance traditional on-site induction
Thierry Letouzet, EHS Safety Manager at Orano La Hague, shared his experience with Uptale and the benefits of an autonomous and digital safety induction program.
Having worked in safety for 15 years, he emphasized the importance of this transformation in guaranteeing a safe working environment.
How to digitize your on-site safety induction?
Uptale’s offering is based on an immersive platform that digitizes and standardizes safety induction, which is essential for companies welcoming providers and employees on site. By capturing real 360° environments (photos and videos of the plant, for example), and adding safety rules in an interactive, fun format (e.g. quiz, risk hunt, getting the right PPE…).
Orano and many other manufacturers reproduce the reality of dangerous situations in a virtual, secure environment where learners have to make the right choices (and validate their module before going on site).
The benefits of this new format
Interaction & Emotion
Being able to make mistakes, and try again and again, while adding emotion, a key factor in anchoring memory.
Interactivity made the sessions more engaging, while ensuring exhaustive coverage of the essential instructions.
Simplified administration
The digital system makes it possible to track the results of each registrant and ensure that they have mastered the procedures before accessing Orano sites.
If the module is passed, the service provider receives a certificate, and the site can see it too.
Enhanced safety
By ensuring that each trainee has not only completed the training, but has actively participated in and understood the instructions, and has been assessed on their knowledge. This assessment ensures that each trainee is able to access the site safely.
Compliance & Traceability
Companies benefit from full traceability of learners who have taken the training. This saves considerable time and money for the teams in charge of these subjects.
“This digital approach has simplified and organized safety induction, particularly for service providers. The Uptale platform has enhanced compliance with safety standards, while reducing potential risks.”

Concrete results
Feedback has been extremely positive, with service providers praising Orano for the fluidity and quality of the distance learning. The interactive approach now enables participants to follow the modules at their own pace, on desktop or smartphone, while confronting them with real-life situations.
Deployment & Autonomy
Encouraged by this success, Orano is looking to expand the use of the solution internally. They plan to develop new modules and introduce VR headsets for immersive training directly on site.
Teams are trained in autonomous creation with Uptale, enabling them to design and adjust modules independently. This flexibility and efficiency guarantees the ongoing relevance of training courses, taking collaboration to new horizons.
