Presentation

The CMQs (Campuses of Trades and Qualifications) are organizations with the mission to:

  • Promote sectors and professions facing labor shortages

  • Adapt existing training programs to real-world industry needs

  • Support youth career orientation and guidance

Solution

To address these challenges, virtual reality (VR) emerged as the ideal solution to:

  • Capture environments that are hard to access

  • Immerse learners in real-life operational procedures

  • Showcase the realities of the field

Projet

Discover the two immersive modules developed by:

  • The Aerospace CMQ: Training in braking techniques based on the Ariane rocket launch base

  • The Health, Social and Well-Being CMQ: Career orientation through the discovery of key professions — nurse, midwife, and social worker

Aerospace Pathway:

Learners are instantly transported to the Guiana Space Centre, right in front of the Ariane rocket. A virtual coach welcomes them and guides them to the workshop to explore the essential professions behind this technological feat.

They then step into the shoes of an aircraft mechanic, discovering specific technical operations such as braking systems to better understand and experience the role.

In this use case, virtual reality makes it possible to simulate environments that are difficult to access or restricted, offering learners full immersion into real aerospace operations.

Social, Health & Well-Being Pathway:

The goal here is to help young people discover essential — yet often overlooked — professions in the fields of social care and healthcare.

This module introduces three careers: nurse, midwife, and social worker.

Through immersive “walk-in-my-shoes” experiences, learners gain insight from the inside, encountering realistic, in-situ situations.

This strengthens their awareness and encourages them to pursue careers in these critical sectors, where there is a significant shortage of professionals.

“Virtual reality was a first for me, and what I particularly appreciated was Uptale’s turnkey solution and their full support throughout the process.”
