Context & Challenges
With over 450 active construction sites and constantly changing teams (employees, temporary workers, subcontractors), Bouygues Bâtiment France South-East must ensure a high level of safety everywhere, with one clear objective: zero accidents.
Traditional training formats were reaching their limits when it came to catch attention and ensuring long-term retention of life-saving rules, especially during the onboarding of new workers on site.
Solution
In collaboration with Uptale, Bouygues Bâtiment designed immersive 360° video filmed in real construction site conditions.
Learners are placed in risky situations where they identify hazards and make the right safety decisions, without being exposed to danger.
The solution is interactive, multi-device (VR headsets, computers), offline, and multilingual, enabling training to take place directly on construction sites.
Results
The solution was rolled out across several construction sites in a country:
-
1,724 sessions completed during Safety Week
-
Nearly 500 on-site facilitators mobilized (trainers, site managers, project managers, etc.)
-
Multi-device deployment on VR headsets, PCs, and tablets
Outcome: better ownership of life-saving rules and training perceived as more engaging and distinctive.
Testimony
« With Uptale, we found a solution that is easy to deploy, even on construction sites: offline, multilingual, and accessible across multiple devices. This allows us to train as many people as possible, everywhere, with a consistent and far more engaging message. »
