Step aboard the new train
The TGV M, SNCF’s future high-speed flagship, has been sparking the imagination of travelers for months. Designed by Alstom through a unique collaborative process, this next-generation train won’t be rolling out until 2026.
To help the public wait, SNCF is turning to digital innovation: an immersive virtual reality tour developed using Uptale, a platform that enables the creation of 360° immersive experiences.
What you can do
Thanks to Uptale, travelers can:
-
Explore a first- or second-class carriage;
-
Discover features designed for passengers with reduced mobility (PRM);
-
Enter the brand-new Bistro car with its innovative design;
-
Visit the relaxation area—or even the toilets—in fine detail!
A self-produced virtual visit
The immersive experience was created entirely in-house by SNCF Group teams using the Uptale platform. Relying on existing 3D models of the TGV M, they built a fully interactive tour that can be shared across all devices—computers, smartphones, or VR headsets—without the need for complex or outsourced production.
This project is a clear demonstration of how simple it is to use Uptale, even for highly technical content.

Many VR uses at SNCF
A long-time partner of SNCF in immersive training, Uptale once again proves that virtual reality goes beyond professional development, it’s also a powerful tool for communication, product promotion, and customer experience.
Beyond this public-facing project, SNCF Réseau, SNCF Voyageurs Immobiliers, and the FAB AR/VR unit have developed a wide range of VR use cases (customer relations, safety, facility tours, operating procedures…).
They now operate a fleet of 2,000 VR headsets and are scaling up Immersive Learning across the company!
